(spoiler alert) - The guy blame the girl for the death of their friend, even if the girl help on reviving the girl. Weird.

What a mess!

I saw this on Netflix and I thought it was going to be a straightforward love story. Then the writers decided to change it up and include some mythical elements like ghosts and possessions (the non-creepy kind). It started off okay but then ends in a garbled mess.

This movie was a huge waste of my time. I thought it was going to be the usual run-of-the-mill Pinoy love story that my sister forced me to watch with her, which I don't necessarily mind. However, this movie tried so hard, and I mean REALLY hard to try to break the mold with making Filipino love movies and ended up FLAT on its face with its POOR execution and its very weird normalization of cheating.
I was just dumbfounded with how the whole christmas/holiday break segment of the movie was portrayed with its lovey-dovey music choices and slow-mo beach/swimming pool scenes of the two of them having a blast while this WHOLE time, I was witnessing two people cheating - one being taken obviously advantage of, and the other running away from his "sucky" reality. I say sucky because really it's not, look at his life. He has money and a girlfriend with lots of money. (Did you see that triple tap water filter? Bruh). I just couldn't stop shouting at my screen telling Marge that the dude's OBVIOUSLY taking advantage of her as we barely saw the "bad dynamic" of him and Ann. The whole "twist" in the end proved my point even more. It really was the tipping point for me. The straw that BROKE THE CAMELS BACK. I just had to write a review after witnessing an hour of someone still holding on to a relationship that ended poorly for 5 YEARS. 5 YEARRSS! (Does she have no support system? I would understand a year, maybe even two, but 5 years was just stretching it). Was the whole road trip to the house of Paul geniune catharsis or was she crazy or was that really supposed to be his ghost? I really have no idea since it was portrayed soo poorly. Hallucinating THAT hard to the point where other people are concerned (waiters, hostel lady, etc) is seriously a problem that has to be addressed, and what I mean with that is, she needs to see a PSYCHIATRIST.
Bottom line is this movie tried so hard and was honestly very laughable at times. This movie is an example of bad writing giving birth to very illogical choices coming from characters. ONE BIG FACEPALM. 1/10

I don't usually comment about movies. Sorry to the actors, but all I learned about this movie was how to get angry at them. Two cheating souls. One who betrayed his girlfriend and the other one who betrayed her bestfriend. And i dont know why when the lead actress cried, her face became like different person. I did not mean to be harsh but its looks weird. I had to finish the movie because of my curiosity. I was hoping That They will give meaning to those cheating individuals. But it ended as a disappointment. it was just a waste of time.
It could have been interesting but it fell flat

The film started out interesting and fun. I was actually invested in it despite the questionable beginning of their relationship. But the longer the movie played out, the more one questioned WHY they fell in love. It was shallow, then dashed with Filipino mysticism, and you lost me completely. Yes, it was an attempt at a surprise, but it was so badly done that it felt like a different movie altogether.
