Thanamal wila is a Sri Lankan village. Which is located in UVA province. But that area has not any facilities than Colombo. "Deeptha" is the main character. He had to face those obstacles. Finally, he was able to win. This TV series describes his life story.

This is way better than twilight or what so ever called Sri Lanka deveni inima we need more TV shows like this and the director Mr. Roshan has done a good work. Please give us a season 2 too. We don't want end to this series

Deeptha, an adolescent in a remote village called "thanamalwila" coincidentally meets her sister's best friend Yashodara. She learns Deeptha's unique qualities and helps him to come out of his current useless and reckless life.
The story depicts the challenges and the obstacles face by Deeptha and how he took advantage of the every situation he faced. A story with a very wide scope!

Although Thanamalwila had become widely popular for growing "grass" in the recent times, this series has nothing to do with it. This story is filled with symbolism in many instances. The systematic injustices all Sri Lankan's still has to face to this date is very accurately depicted as well.
The entire series is available on YouTube via ITN Sri Lanka channel but in some episodes, parts of the dialogue is muted due to copyright violations. Search the same episode on YouTube and you'll be able to find the same episode under a different uploader without any muted parts.
P.S. the YouTube ITN playlist creator is a careless person who mixed up the episode sequence in reverse order. Hope they'll correct it soon

Exceptional, Eye pleasing and mind calming Television drama ever produced and directed in Sri Lanka.
I would say before 'Koombiyo' Teledrama, this will be ranked the top teledrama for decades. I will not spoil any detail of the drama here, but who are passionate for a new taste or new feeling like something extra-ordinary, Yes, this is the drama.
Best of this iconic drama is no lazy to watch even a single frame and characters are really following a unique form of creativity emerging silence that will motivate us to think beyond what we want to actually see. It is very difficult to explain here, but you will definitely get lost for a period of time, you will start to think and will feel the loneliness as the best part of your life.
