The Horror Beneath
tristan_1910 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Fox and the Hound is a really good episode revealing the identity of the mysterious stalker and Eat the Rich killer. The social commentary is insane and the fact such a monster could hide in plain sight so easily and climb the ladder is horrifying. The fire has been lit and the board is set for an excellent second part for the season.

The characters are interesting enough and the dynamics definitely change in this episode. Kate learns about the stalker and the recent events Joe has been put through. The confrontation between Roald and Joe comes to a head and accusations fly.

Overall, this episode did a good job at providing reveals and boosting the tension. The narrative is clear and focused and the pacing is just right, not too slow, not too fast. I think it might be a real turning point for Joe's character, and the show presents interesting ideas pinning Joe against a straight up monster.

Pretty average!

Agree with first review that it felt realistic when it started out, bt got more and more unrealistic by the time we are here..bt it still had the lead actor's charisma and some really tense moments that you just couldn't stop not binging. Bt i felt this season really lacked interesting characters and there was really no tension whatsoever.. we don't care about anyone, even about our lead guy.. just nothing! Felt like they just rewrote the character of joe, he's not the joe we know. I just hope it gets a little better in part 2 or next season (it it is on cards) otherwise i see no hope. I don't know what to say, doesn't feel much great especially when you were really waiting for it from a long time.

Splitting the season ruined it
garabedian12327 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What a great fantastic season. I loved almost every moment of it. Until the very very end!... WTF is this? I really thought this season was only 5 episodes long The 5th episode felt like the end to a great, albeit short season...

The cut away. Ahh the cutaway. How the heck did the characters get out of their current situation? How did the murder, i dont remember his name because it was only said like twice..How did he get away from the rich house with everyone knowing he was the murderer?...easy.. We will just cut away..which defies all logic. Even if Joe and Kate somehow decided not to tell anyone else..Rold definitely would have. You expect me to believe that after almost burning alive he never said anything to anyone else? And The security team never saw anything? BULL PLOP... It felt like this was the real ending that was artificially extended and it is both terrible and off putting. I don't want to watch the rest of the season anymore.

To be truthful they did the same thing in the beginning of the season..If i woke up with a dead body in my house mu very first question to everyone would be who else took me home last night. And yet its never brought up or thought of.

I really thought the only thing that would make sense is that the killer was not part of the drinking party in the first episode otherwise the other rich people would have seen him/her go home with Joe and Malcolm. And so i really thought the killer was his student girl.

Was it always this unrealistic
semyneth11 February 2023
This is more of a review of the first half of the new season. It started pretty good and there is a somewhat different approach this season. It feels a bit disconnected from the first two season though.

What kind of ruins it a bit for me is the acting and the writing. Reactions to extreme situations are very unrealistic by almost everyone except Joe and maybe Kate. Almost no crying, even laughing and not concerned for their own safety after a murder. Some of these characters are very cliché and cartoonish - they are very bland. Can't really connect with them and so far it feels like the Gosspi Girl with murder. For me it is still good enough because Joe carries the show right now. Although it seems like he gets away with so much stuff when he is playing detective and spying around.

Not keeping my hopes up for the next episodes.

I like new Joe
bataloan15 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I like how Joe is avoiding killing and he is indeed new man now,so im not the biggest fan of this season above from too many characters to follow ,it seems like theres no real reaction to the certain things .. For example when this guy says "Johnatan Moore is a killer" noone of them are scared or anything, they laugh and stuff and that really bothers me the most. I get that they are on drugs most of the time but people on drugs would have some reaction to this.

I see that this show with this season is goin to completely other direction which is fine, but i miss old seasons with Joe getting obsessed more over some women. Acting is fine, characters are alright but there is no anything too deep in them :/

Joe looks hot but this series is not
sue-0623917 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Penn Badgley and his hypnotic voice are back, and he's as great as ever. However, the storyline here introduces a set of upper class British airheads who are so annoying, over the top and unbelievable that I can hardly stand to watch them. Only the character of Kate is a relatable human being.

When the second half of this series is released I guess I'll know if it has been worth the watch, but for now I am finding it very hard going because I cannot stand the new characters.

Oh and in the brief trailer for the final episodes, one major character from Joe's past looks set to appear (though surely only in a dream?).

You has jumped the shark..
JoeBobJones11 February 2023
All the way to London.

Halfway into season 4 of You, and it's really nuked the fridge. You has always stretched the limits of getting away with 'private in public' believability and character motivations, but that made the show fun up until last season. Now? Now this London season 4 has lazily retrograded into a maudlin whodunnit with too many conveniences.

Oh, I will finish the second half to see if it gets better, but right now it's mostly like Emily in Paris if she was a psychopath in London. Early episodes are largely shot in beautiful South Kensington, which is lovely to look at, until we get marooned out in the hackneyed country estate and the show loses its grip. Still, it makes me pine for London again, which is nice. The show is a chore, though.

Disappointing
matt_t_uk10 February 2023
Dire. Sad to see the direction they took the final season - unbelievable characters / storyline / acting - I'm fully aware it's always been far fetched, that wasn't a problem in the past but this is just ridiculous.

Joe is well acted as usual but the rest of this seasons cast are terrible. Yet again, Netflix has the last season curse and have no idea how to finish as strongly as they started e.g. Bloodline, House of Cards.

There was hope it was getting interesting with the new setting of London, however the storyline is preposterous. It almost feels like a stand-alone season given there are barely any references to past episodes. The start is flat, almost boring, it then descends into a repetitive game of Cluedo - only Colonel Mustard hasnt killed Dr. Black, he's killed this series.

Mixed Feelings But Not Really Mixed
SlippinoftheEdge9 February 2023
It is my first ever review so i think it's a bit disappointing for me to do this on a show like this. Not that i see my taste above this series but wasn't exactly my dream to do it on a mediocre show. I don't know, guess i am bored.

First of i would like to point out that it started more grounded in the first season and as it goes on it kept losing its ground more and more to the point i don't even know what i am watching anymore. Character lines are not organic feels so planned just for the sakes of Joe being able to do what he wants to do. Reactions to the events are not in any way realistic or feels right. I am not saying that it was realistic to this point but " lines, people, cities, locations'' felt more real before. In this particular season all characters seems off. You can tell that they aren't real people. Its all over the place, for a moment i thought Joe was in a videogame or something. Its like Batman trying the take out Two Face. I don't know just felt bad. I don't even wanna get into details because as i write more and more bad stuff pops up over my head. So here goes my first review.. Ta daaa :'(

Absolutely unbelievable
Bertymbk14 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This season is not only bad, but literally absolutely unbelievable - besides the bad acting cast, the annoying british clishes and the going away from everything season 2 and 3 built up, it's absolutely unbelievable that someone who had to flee the usa after a murder turns up to become a professor withouth noone asking, rents an insane appartement though normally having no money and especially becoming friends with an absolut exlusive group of insanely rich people that just invite him in FOR NO REASON AT ALL while explaing the obvious among us plot the whole god damn time. Gosh this is annoying writing.

4th album curse
storeymason26 February 2023
It seems that tv shows and artists alike always try to stray away from their original style to do something unique and different around their 4th album or 4th season. This season is predominantly different but in all the wrong areas; having a 'whodunnit' mystery in a show and casting aside joe's obsessive tendencies (which is the main focus and concept of the show) was definitely a choice.

Shows, artists, or whoever sometimes need to learn that sticking to what fans have been drawn to all along instead of trying to push boundaries and excite other demographics. It's laughable to watch the show try to keep viewers engaged with new ideas when sometimes the old formula works just fine.

How on Earth is this Realistic Writing?
jordan01124 February 2023
This series, much like the others but perhaps even more so, has gone completely off the rails now. I decided to give the show one let go as the concept is decent. But in this episode realism has complete gone out of the window. There's suspending your disbelief and then there's completely ignoring all concept of realism.

Nothing any of the characters do makes any sense whatsoever and is completely irrational. Reactions and dialogue are completely fascile and so lacking in depth it beggars belief. Every character is an unlikeable and completely idiotic moron whose actions make zero sense.

The killer is revealed in this episode so there goes any suspense built over the previous episodes.

The killer's motives are not explained and so basic as to be ridiculous and their actions are completely illogical, self-defeating and incoherent, yet they're supposed to be an intelligent character.

This is just absolutely terrible writing, despite the first few episodes being acceptably okay. Just like the other seasons, you have to be stupid now to not notice all the lack of realism, coherence and totally bizarre and nonsensical actions of the characters.

Massive disappointment so far...
detlic4 March 2023
Most likely, another great show ruined by modern day Netflix... This doesn't even look remotely like the show you watched so far. Feels like you are watching some show with the same actor, accidentally same name as the last role, but nothing even close to what is supposed to be.

I really don't understand why they do these "bait and switch" BS... Completely changed to what we saw in first three seasons.

Instead of Joe we are used to, we watch some cheap rip-off of Agatha Christie novel being adapted for "modern audiences" by a semi-literate person showrunners accidentally caught in the street while going to work... Seriously, why? Hope it gets better, but I lost all hope after so many other letdowns like Witcher...

Worst episode of the series thus far
ericmacgillivary16 May 2024
Half way in and all of the characters seem unrealistic and terribly written. None of them are interesting and worth watching for. With the previous episodes barely scratching okay we have finally hit the low point of the show.

The show feels completely different in comparison to the first three seasons that I'm starting to think it should be avoided. Adding no new interesting characters and reasons to keep watching it is hard to continue. The twists are utterly ridiculous and horribly done.

It's sad to see a show continually go downhill and anyone who has reviewed this season and episode as good does not know how to rate television.

Probably the worst episode of this series
jpismyname10 May 2023
I've never really rated any episode of You lower than 5 stars...until this episode. Take note that this rating is only FOR THIS EPISODE. I find some of the previous episodes to be good.

In this episode, the reveal of the Eat the Rich Killer's identity isn't surprising, and it didn't give much of an impact. The writing and dialogues are not as realistic and not as good as the writing in previous seasons. Some of the characters are also just too cartoonish for me to get invested/interested in them. Some of them are just not as convincing as other characters in previous seasons.

In positive notes, Charlotte Ritchie is amazing, so is Penn Badgley as always. The new villain is also good.
