Not for everyone, but not bad either
Trixie_reviews28 November 2018
Super Lovers starts when Haru (16) meets his little adoptive brother Ren (8). They spend a summer together, getting to know each other. After that, they're separated and meet again after a few years. During the anime, both guys are growing up, but this is especially noticeable with Ren, who also starts developing feelings for Haru. I'll admit, at first I was creeped out by this fact, not because of the age difference (we all know couples with even larger age gap), not because of the fact that they were adoptive brothers either (if there's no blood relation I'm ok with it). But, what bothered me was the fact that Ren looked so child-like, even after he "grew up." If he could've looked more mature, like his classmates, it would've been much better. Thankfully, there is no romantic relationship between the guys before Ren is about 15-16 years old, and in the second season, he does seem to grow up a bit more. In the end, I did end up liking the anime, but I would really prefer if they made it when Ren reached 18, instead of 16. Other than that, it's actually quite fun.

Very cute anime

Warning: Spoilers
I really thought this was cute, regardless if its not one of my favorite animes out there. I loved how Haru and Ren were spending time together as stepbrothers because while watching each episode, it was just enjoyable to watch their relationship blossomed. I was however disappointed that the pair of them didn't fall in love yet but at least it has been shown on the manga. Ill have to read that soon lol!

If you like Yaoi anime without romance scenes, then this one is for you!

Give It A Chance.
nievisnowbirb16 November 2017
It's so unfortunate that people write this anime off due to It's first episode.

This honestly was one of the most well written, cute and enjoyable love stories I've seen **AFTER** the first episode. The first episode shows our main character as very young, but after the Time Skip that comes in Episode 2, that changes.

The anime itself is very satisfying and fun to watch, it portrays the relationship between the slowly maturing Ren and the still immature Haru very well, and how two people wildly different can come together with time.

Give this anime a chance, and if you enjoy it, watch Season 2.

Hope it continues

I really love the storyline that this anime has captured. You see struggles and commitment between them and when you are really into the anime you really wish for them that everything is going to be okay and well. I really hope there is going to be another season so I can continue to watch them grow.

disturbing themes

I'm not sure what the logistics are, but it felt like this relationship is majorly pedophilic and incestuous (i don't care if they aren't actually related). i honestly could make it through the first few episodes.

The Best Mature Yaoi Series
wasitme31 January 2021
One of the best yaoi anime I've ever watched. For me who love forbidden love in fiction ; the more forbidden, the better. What I love the most about this story is that, it contains lots of humor, fluff, drama and family bonding.

There's some mature scenes. Though, it's not explicit, I don't recomend this to those who are uncomfortable with taboo things. Not also recommended for kids under 18 years old.

Overall, I give 10/10. The art, the sound, the music ... everything is perefct

Illegal and stupid love
amelie-bjurenhed20 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
From the look of it it was visually promising. but it was a poorly written peace with no real character development I never knew how to feel about anything and if it wasn't for the overly dramatic music. If this is a love story it is strange because the kid Ren is only cold and yes a = child who falls in love with his brother (i guess). He didn't feel bothered by the relationship of his not related by blood brother not loving him the same way and only see him as a child and younger brother. They are both from Canada and people are misunderstanding their kissing hello and goodbye (because apparently thats how you do it in Canada). Japanese people have a strange image of foreigners and therefore the characters in the anime mistake their relationship. Ren tells these people that it's none of their business.. wheel there is no business at all. All this sounds OK like a forbidden love tale but the kid is to small and the relationship is boring. archers besides one girl is not bothered by there actions thoue they are illegal and for some reason for example a classmate to Ren understands what is going on, but not Ren? like he is not thinking of Haru all the time? Haru (the older brother) in his drunkenness tusch Ren improperly out of nowhere Ren rejects him for being violent and drunk. This makes Ren tell Haru to try harder just being his brother and this of corse makes Haru out of no ware question there bond and this happens in the last episode.. how this happened is still a question-mark and not OK. In most yaois i watches there are more then one relationship going on that can district me from one bad relationship but it's not. The dogs are stupid. Waste of time for all yaoi lovers. Junjou Romantica lovers may like this I guess.. Not a fan.

Let's be honest
luluhoney-192435 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Alot of people are complaining due to the obvious romance between Ren&Haru , However come on... It's Anime and 9 times out of 10 anytime you watch Romance Anime hell any genre really ALL the characters and Love interests are underage and those Slice of Life anime's always have a Sister who loves her brother a little TOO much (Visa versa) No that doesn't excuse it but it's only as dirty as you make it . Anyways I thought it was adorable.
