Not the worst
lindsey-rae-young29 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's good enough for someone looking for a cheesy holiday film. I just can't get past the fact that she's going to have her own practice without any memory of med school! IT ISN'T SAFE.

Nice Movie to Watch
Natural_Mystery8827 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this movie was nice. I like that the main character was able to go back in time and save her mom from dying from a heart attack. I think it was relatable because we all have family members who refuse to go to the doctor until its too late.

I thought it was odd that she would be willing to start a whole new life and forget her first two children (who I thought were obnoxious by the way). The first husband/former basket star in high school had to go, I definitely agree with that decision but when I saw the 3 new kids at the end of the movie I was like who are these kids? It would be weird for me to wake up and find that my two kids that I loved and raised were replaced by 3 new kids. Also how is she going to run her medical practice when it seems like she has no knowledge of going to medical school or creating the practice in the first place?

I was a little underwhelmed when the main character went back in time and saw her mom for the first time. Her reaction wasn't as emotional or heartfelt as I expected. It kind of bothers me that movies like these always go back to high school, why not college? Or another period in their lives. In high school teenagers are so immature, and love for them is like puppy love, not real adult love and honestly unless something major happened in high school like having a baby (like in this movie) it doesn't dictate what type of life you're going to have.

Overall it was good movie, I think the actors played convincing roles.

A good time travel yarn
Andu00730 August 2020
I was channel hopping & this was just about to start on VoxAfrica channel, a channel I very rarely, if ever watch. I love a time travel story & after quickly looking up what it was about, I thought I'd give it a go.

Do you wish you could go back to school & alter the path of your life? Personally it would be a very difficult descision but this is what happens here in this tale of a woman who ends up in a mundane existence in mid life & suddenly is given the chance to go back & change it. It's very well done too, as it can be difficult with time travel stories on the consequences of the changes you make.

A good love story, a happy story & a message that shows that all is not seen on the surface, to aesthetically please yourself or others. If only we all could get a chance to do this... For a bit of fun & escapism, watch this, it will make you smile.

For those who ask what happens to the ex...keep watching until after the credits! 😉

Good Concept but Poorly Executed
Uriah434 December 2023
This film essentially begins with an attractive woman by the name of "Jacquline" (Jennifer Freeman) wondering what her life would have been like if she had made better choices when she was younger. For starters, not only was she the most popular girl in high school, but her grades were such that she had plans on attending a college to become a doctor. Yet instead of that, she is currently trapped in a marriage to a husband named "Daniel" (Jean Elie) who doesn't love her and might even be cheating on her with a colleague from work. Along with that, even her two children take her for granted as well. Then one day, as luck would have it, while shopping with her best friend "Rosalyn" (Rhyon Nicole Brown), she happens to come across an old lady who grants her the power to go back to high school and correct some of the mistakes she made during that time. That being said, however, she is also advised that she will have to take responsibility for all of her choices that she now chooses to make. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that, even though I liked the overall concept, the characters chosen for this movie were simply not adequate for the task at hand. For starters, both Rhyon Nicole Brown and Kareem J. Grimes (as "Paul") looked much too old to be in high school. Likewise, the performance of Robert Ri'chard (as "Aaron") needed serious improvement as well. Talk about overacting. Throw in the fact that, having lost her mother during this exact same time, one would think that Jacquline would have placed less attention on going to high school activities and a lot more importance on her mother's health. But that's just me. In any case, although I thought that both Jennifer Freeman, and to a lesser extent Jean Elie, performed quite well, neither of them could overcome the rather glaring faults just mentioned, and I have rated this movie accordingly. Below average.

Such a cute holiday movie! Only reason for the nine is wish the writer would have showed what happened to the ex-football boyfriend. 😩

Black Hallmark Movie - Excellent!
karrahamiller25 December 2018
Kudos to the writers and director. This is a clean, fun, holiday movie you can watch with the whole family. The story line is fun, and the acting is great. It's refreshing to see this type of storyline with black actors! It's like a like a black Hallmark movie but not corny. Great film and I highly recommend it.

Gem of a movie!
denise-994459 December 2019
What a gem! A feel-good, quality, Christmas movie, with an all-black cast. The story line and the overall message tugged at my heartstrings. Having lost my dad at an early age, I could so relate with the desire to have a do-over with loved ones. Great messages about your decisions have consequences and that we determine our future. Loved this movie!

This is a movie I will watch OFTEN. One to save for sure.
andrea-6893212 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It was well written. Not one loose end and without giving spoilers all I'll say is it's well written, acted, light, fun, believable and at 42 with so so many regrets, memories and "what ifs" this movie allows you to vicariously see the results of what would happen if you actually got a chance to do it right.

I think the thing that surprised me the most is the way the actors and actresses were able to slip into believable dual roles. (I can't say more without giving everything away)

This movie isn't just about holidays. It's a movie that tells a tale that is good for any day and any time. You'll love it. Just sit back and enjoy it - any time, any day.

Watchable but still kind of meh
CranberriAppl27 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There's a movie from a few years ago called Holiday Switch with Nicole Eggert that's a lot better than this, but this one was watchable enough to finish. I couldn't get over the fact that she basically got replacement kids at the end. I agree with another contributor that Jackie becoming a doctor at the end, but still not remembering is a strange way to end the movie.

The cast has a bunch of recognizable faces which is the only reason I watched. I can't believe Rosie was little Lizzie from Lincoln Heights. I did like that the movie made an effort to make this a period piece. This definitely didn't need to be a Christmas/holiday movie. A huge chunk of the movie has nothing to do with the holidays and of course, the majority of us associate Christmastime and Christmas movies with colder weather and even snow. This could have been set around Valentine's Day, their wedding anniversary, or maybe even a milestone birthday for Jackie.

It's watchable for at least one viewing. Also I agree about leaving out politics. Let a Christmas movie be just that.

Great Time-Travel Holiday movie with one exception . . .
bratliff-7912926 November 2020
Aside from the fact that the mom and dad of the teens are too young to play the part, the storyline is well-done and I do love a good time-travel movies. Great story.
