Knocked Up (2007)

So So
3 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong. I laughed. There were some very funny parts and all together I'd say it was a fairly enjoyable film, however after reading all the amazing reviews and hearing all the hype I was expecting a much better movie.

First; I had a lot of trouble buying the story. Two drunk people meet in a bar and hook up I can understand, although those two? Um, not so much. She's a supermodel and he's an overweight stoner loser type. While it MAY happen in the real world; I've never witnessed it. The next morning they're having breakfast and the look on her face when he's talking about bong hits and his lifestyle is enough to send her running to the "shmashorshin clinic" immediately. Instead for some undisclosed reason she decides, in spite of the fact that she just got a huge promotion at work that she should have the love child of this guy. I can't imagine her motivation for wanting to go through with this, but be that as it may...So she then meets with him to discuss things and shortly after falls for him and now they're both "in love". Again, makes no sense. While I'm sure the prospect of this guy being with a woman like this never occurred to him in his wildest fantasies I don't see him embracing fatherhood as quickly as he did and abandoning his slacker friends and lifestyle. I also felt that a girl like this would have either her glamorous mom or rich sister be appaulled at her being with this guy and having his kid.

That being said; I really liked Seth Rogan. Katherine Heigel is very beautiful, but I found her character boring. Despite the fact that the story as a whole was very hard to believe I did laugh a lot and thought there were some really good moments. One of my favorites was when he called the doctor and threatened to kill him. That was hilarious. I thought it actually quite endearing the way he began to become more supportive as time went on and very protective of her as well.

The Departed (2006)
5/10
Disappointing
27 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I usually go to the movie theater when a movie is as hyped as this one. It won an academy award and I still didn't see it. After all the awards, praise....I had this sinking feeling that it couldn't possibly live up to all of this. I finally watched it on cable last night and I have to say it didn't.

While this was not a bad film and it was an entertaining story in my opinion it just did not even come close to living up to all the high praise it received. I heard many times people compare this to Goodfellas. The only possible reason I could imagine they'd make that comparison is because of Scorcese, but clearly that is where the comparison ends. Goodfellas was one of the best movies I've ever seen. The Departed? Not so much.

The story centers on two men both graduating from the police academy, one who has a family history of connection to the mob and ends up working for the police as an spy and informant so they could bring down this mob guy, and the other who was groomed from childhood by the same mob guy to get INTO the police department and get high up in the ranks so he could find things out and shield himself from being arrested through tips and information. So both boys are basically informants, one for the cops, the other for the mafia.

It seems to me that the idea is to show "good vs bad". In the beginning of the movie Costello (nicholson, the "bad mafia guy") exclaims; "you can become a cop or work in organized crime. When you're looking down the barrel of a gun what's the difference"? This theme supposedly is to play out during the movie and it is up to us, the audience to figure out what the difference IS. The problem with this movie in my opinion is there WAS no noticble difference between these two characters. They were both young, driven, and dedicated seemingly believing in their cause and the work that they did. They both felt guilt over their secret status. They both were terrified of being found out. Honestly during the course of the movie I found myself getting confused over who's the "good guy" and who's the "bad guy". Everyone double crossed everyone. Everyone was dirty and corrupt, including the police. I'm assuming that we as the audience are to derive the message that good and evil exist in all of us? Not sure. I personally don't like when movies depict the "bad guy" in such an obvious comparison to the "good guy", but here I just was confused about the movies intent.

I thought many of the scenes were completely far fetched and over the top, unbelievable and silly. The problem I have with this movie is that I did not have any feelings for either guy, good, or bad. I had no sympathy for Decaprio, and no disdain for Damon. Who WAS the good guy/bad guy? I thought Nicholoson, who I usually like was playing "the joker".

In all this wasn't a bad movie. It just wasn't great.

Very Cute Feel Good Flick
17 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
There's something about Drew Barrymore that is so endearing. I think it's because she's pretty, but not glamorous and she has a very vulnerable kind of goofy quality that makes her come across as very genuine and likable.

I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't think it was GREAT, but very good, and very sweet. This is the story of an aging pop star. (Having been a child of the 80's and having loved so many of those groups from a bygone era I can totally relate). He doesn't seem to mind being a has been and as long as the money keeps coming in he's pretty content to do small time gigs and sing the oldies to "menapausal women".

He does however need to keep making money so when he gets the rare opportunity to write a new song for "Cora", a famous pop singer he jumps at it, but he's more a music guy, and needs someone to write the song. Along comes Sophie (barrymore), who has a talent for writing and only by accident they both discover she has a knack for song lyrics. Anyone who's seen any movie ever in their lives can predict the rest, blah blah blah. I don't have to say "spoilers" for you to figure out they get together....BUT it's a lot of fun watching the inevitable anyhow.

Hmmmm, It was OK
3 January 2007
I agree; those endless promos made me so curious that I couldn't wait to see this thing already! I think in this day and age of video voyeurism, blackberries, cell phones, celebrity obsession...this show was inevitable.

I agree with whoever said that Cox is pretty much miscast. I think she gives it all she's got, but she's no Ari Gold and needs to be. In the red dress with the callous attitude bribing this guy to sell his soul for publicity she's obviously the embodiment of the devil.

I liked her schizophrenic paparazzi. I think he was a very interesting, but sad character.

What I think is wrong with this show is an identity crisis. What is it saying? Spying is bad? Gossip is bad? Gossip is good, inevitable? We are bad for demanding it? Society has gone bad? Is she Evil or is she just telling it like it is? I think the show has some good ideas and potential, but unless it makes some adjustments and gets a direction I think it will just be very boring. I can't even imagine where they'd go after that first episode.

Inspiring
23 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this movie. It was a bit slow, but a great performance by the always charming Wil Smith as Chris Gardener, the man who refused to go gently into that good night.

His fight, perseverance, energy, and attitude is completely inpsiring and refreshing. He did not complain, whine or ever say why me. He simply did whatever he had to do to get out of his rotten, miserable situation and turn things around for himself.

I found some of the scenes extremely touching, especially the night he spent in the train station bathroom with his son.

While I did not find this to be Oscar worthy or outstanding in any way I thought it was a touching story of the American Dream and how it's out there for all of us if we want it badly enough.

Inspiring
23 October 2006
Very inspiring story of a young girl with everything; great job, husband, success, beauty...and suddenly getting diagnosed with the big C. She's terrified she will lose her fabulous life, but more importantly her life, period. She has a very touchy feely moment with a cab driver who shares his cancer experience and wisdom. She is fortunate to have a loving husband and a very good support system from friends to family to her mentor at work who is also a survivor.

Throughout the movie she faces every step from the mastectomy to chemo to hair loss to nausea to fear of death. She forges ahead determined to fight.

Sarah Chalke was great as the courageous Geryln. Watching Gerylyn you can't help but compare her to yourself, and how we get bogged down in our petty problems for years and years on end. She's truly an inspiration.

Pretty Good
1 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I read the book years ago and thought it was campy fun. I thought the movie was sorta fun, but not campy or snarky enough. I always love Meryl Streep (who doesn't?), and I thought she did a great job as Miranda, the boss from hell, however I would have liked to have seen her meaner. Frankly I didn't think she was as awful as her character was depicted in the book and it would have been more fun if you could really hate her, which I didn't.

I thought Hathaway was good as Andrea, the dough eyed idealistic assistant who at first rolled her eyes at shallowness of the fashion world, but quickly embraced it and became what she had mocked. I also thought it might have been more fun to see someone really transform from an ugly duckling to a fashinista swan, but Hathaway, even with her dowdy clothes and plain jane look....still easily looks like someone who WOULD fit in in a place like that. So there was hardly any ooing and ahhhing when she changed her look

I thought it was cliché how all her friends were angry with her for becoming a slave to her job. It was very Hollywood. She had a very demanding job. She didn't choose her job over her friends. She began to like her job and wanted to dedicate herself to it. If it WAS a journalism job (the job she really wanted) would her friends have been more understanding?

SPOILERS I thought the whole sleeping with the enemy thing and then "accidentally" finding out that Christian was a bad guy was way too easy.

In a movie like this I feel the lines of good and evil are not clearly drawn. While it would seem that Andrea was good and Miranda was bad I wasn't so convinced of either. I also thought it was extremely hokey how she called that bitch and offered her the clothes she got in Paris. She sucked up to people who treated her like hell. It just made her seem not so nice, but sort of pathetic.

Wasn't THAT Bad
9 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I read a ton of horrid reviews, which I'm pretty much in agreement with, however I will say that aside from all that was wrong with this movie (there was plenty) the premise was interesting and really freaky, which is probably why there are so many reviews and so many people have at least been curious enough to see it.

In a nutshell; I thought the story idea was good, naive American boys travelling through Europe smoking pot and chasing women, the hotter the better. They slowly realize that what they thought was Garden of Eden turned out to be hell. The idea itself makes great fodor for a horror flick, however having seen many horror movies I'd say this one failed because so much of it was not believable. The main guy took on an Indiana Jones quality after he inexplicably escaped the torture chamber without raising an eyebrow from anyone there. He went back to save the Japanese girl which was not only out of character, but completely ridiculous. If you saw people being killed, tortured, sawed in half do you think anyone in the world would go back inside? Yeah, right. He finds the perfect get a way car which just happens to have keys in the ignition, and a big stack of bubble gum to assuage the little boy gang. He just happens to be on the same train as the bad guy and just happens to have the perfect opportunity to follow him into the bathroom and exact his revenge. Too much.

Paternity (1981)
10/10
Fun, Adorable, Sweet
27 May 2006
Sometimes HBO will air the most random movies. I just watched "Paternity" again. I saw it back in the day and loved it then and now.

The story of a middle aged successful single bachelor who feels eomthing is missing in his life. He decides he wants a baby, but not a wife or girlfriend...just a baby. He hooks up with Maggie (Diangelo) who is a waitress who also plays the french horn saving for a trip to Paris. He offers her money to be the surrogate (not quite as common then as it is today) and she accepts. During the months that they are together while she's carrying the baby it's obvious to see that they are destined to fall in love, but while it may be predictable it is just very sweet.

Great chemistry between buddy and maggie (reynolds and diangelo).

Powerful
28 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen the TV movie about flight 93 and thought it was good, but this one was extremely powerful and worthy of the big screen.

The buildup was kind of slow, but effective. It showed the ground control, air traffic controllers slowly becoming aware of what was going on. Living in NYC it gave me a sick feeling like I was reliving that day. Everyone was so confused and this was completely unprecedented. No one really knew what to do, but by the looks of it the movie they seemed to do the best they could.

The tension rose slowly and steadily and since we all knew how the story end, kind of like watching titanic. My heart broke for all those passengers since I KNEW what their fate was. I felt like I was on that plane with all those doomed people. The scene where they stood and violently made their hijaking known shook me to the core. I could barely watch it.

This is not really a spoiler since we all know based on the phone calls that they did ralley together and try and fight back. It was heartbreaking and inspiring seeing their courage. They seemed to know this was their only shot and they went down with gusto. Despite the fact that we all know how that story ended I still could not help feeling that I wished it could have turned out differently, that they were able to get back control of the plane. They did not go gentle in to that good night.

This movie was incredible. It shook me to the core. Go see it. You will cry. You will remember and you will realize how lucky you are every day you have on this earth.

Cute
20 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this movie. I thought it was very charming and well acted by Moore and Anniston. The story of a woman who has almost everything she wants, held back in her career because she doesn't fit the profile of the other executives to upon the advice of a friend she creates a fictitious husband. She coaches Nick (moore) to know everything about her so that when they meet with the big bosses they will be believable as an engaged couple. The ruse is that they are to have a big fight at this business dinner so that she can go on with her life as a single person, but portray herself to her company as someone who is destined for marriage and a more stable life.

Of course this all goes awry when Moore falls for her and tells her he does not want to go through with the plan and "break up" and perhaps they should give each other a shot for real. She is not happy about this and decides that she's going through with her plan with or without Nicks cooperation. He sees she's not backing down so he helps her go through with the plan and it is a success.

What troubled me about this story although very cute was his insistence that she was a manipulator and acted as if he was a victim. While I don't think it's very nice to use people in the way that she used him she DID tell him all about it in advance and gave him the chance to say yes or no. He opted to help her, but clearly he just wanted a chance to get closer to her and had no real intention of following through with the "fake" breakup. He just wanted a chance to be with her.

So while it followed all the rules of the Hollywood formula I found it a bit unfair and manipulated myself.

Then And Now
19 April 2006
I was a teenager when this movie came out so naturally I loved it. I watched it again last night (had seen it a million times) and it's funny, but honestly I don't think a movie like that could come out today and be successful or well thought of.

First off; I kind of thought Molly's character was kind of a loser. She was very whiney and bratty and it would be very hard to believe that she'd end up with Jake or that he'd see anything in her.

When I watched it as a kid I thought Molly was the best. I still like her, but not crazy about that character. I did however think Anthony Michael Hall was the #1 reason to watch this movie. He was so funny. He was an uber geek, but as he said "I'm kinda like king of the dipshits" and he played that so well. I loved when he met her on the dance floor and says "alllll riiiiiight" with the come hither look.

I also loved long duck dong. Very funny. "what the hell are you bitchin about? I have to sleep under some china man named after a ducks dork". Ha ha ha. So funny.

This movie was pure 80's.

Lifetime Movie? Sure, But Still Very Good
1 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Saw this movie when it came out and then a couple more times years later. I'm watching it now 20 years later and it's still a very good story. Does it wreak of "lifetime movie network"? Yes, but alas lifetime was not even in existence back then so it needed somehwere to air.

The cast was excellent. The story was a little schmaltzy; two women become close friends and unbeknownst to either one friend is having an affair with he other friends husband. She's invited over to the house for a dinner party which is how she discovers that her lover is the husband of her best friend. She is horrified and tries to break off the affair. Shortly afterwards he is tragically killed in a car accident which is devatating for both women. Of course the wife finds out by accident about this affair and wants Holly out of her life now, but their friendship is able to prevail because they need each other.

I thought it was a very good story a great cast and perfomrances. I really enjoyed it.

Very Good
27 March 2006
Very smart, funny and interesting movie. I seldom say that about any movie. The story of a lobbyist for the tobacco industry who's job is to put a spin on cigarettes, improve their image, make them cool again, and prevent one senator from getting legislature to mandate that cigarette companies place a large graphic skull and cross bones on each pack sold.

Nick Naylors character is brilliant. While he was "selling" the public on his ideas and views and convincing them, his own son, and everyone else that he is correct he actually sold me too with his good looks, charm, and logic.

Everyone knows that smoking causes cancer and anyone who attempts to sell or promote it won't garner any sympathy for lagging sales. That's where the spin doctor Nick comes in to teach everyone that smoking is cool.

Excellent movie.

My Name Is Earl (2005–2009)
The Next Seinfeld? Feh!
14 March 2006
OK, I confess I only saw this show once. It wasn't so bad. It's just not for me. It was kinda funny I guess, but to me this show is a one trick pony, Earl redeeming himself, righting his wrongs...

I don't think there is enough there for it to go on very long. A man I work with loves this show and thinks it's the absolute greatest insisting that the shear popularity and the comparisons with comedy's like Seinfeld should convince me. I'm not convinced. This is not the "next Seinfeld". I'm watching Seinfeld right now. I've seen every episdoe 10 times at least and I still laugh. That's staying power. That's funny. George says "I was raised from a long line of quiters. My father was a quiter. My mother was a quiter. I was raised to give up". Love it! To compare "my name is Earl" to "seinfeld" is an insult!

Maybe I need to watch a few more times, but based on the one episode I saw I say this show may go one more season, two tops.

Mamushka!
2 February 2006
I saw this movie in the theater and don't remember liking it much, but I just watched it again today and I have to say it was very enjoyable. Raule Julia as Gomez was incredible (gone too soon!!!!) and Anjelica Houston was amazing as Morticia. Total deadpan. When she read Hansel and Gretyl to the children and the witch was the hero and she said when the witch went into the oven she was writhing in pain. So funny! Christina Ricci as the Gothic Wednesday. She nailed that character. It was just a really fun movie all together.

My only gripe was uncle fester. I remember fester as goofy, of course bald and creepy looking, but with that high pitched voice, very sarcastic, almost Paul Linde like on Hollywood squares. Lloyds uncle fester had the very gruff voice and terribly insecure. I realize that lent itself to the plot, but I just didn't like this character much.

Other than that; very fun story. Very well done.

Pleasant Surprised
28 January 2006
I did not expect to like this movie. Let's face it; it looks stupid. I must say that I enjoyed it. I thought the story was very sweet about a man who is well, a 40 year old virgin. Of course he's very innocent and kind and unspoiled. He meets the woman of his dreams but is terrified of the moment of reckoning. Doesn't want to lose her because of his big secret. The guys in the store where he works try to coach him and tell him it's best to get some practice on some other women he doesn't care about so that he'll be ready. There were some great "guy lines" and some very funny scenes when the guys go back and forth telling each other "why they must be gay". Steve Carell was very sweet and I always love Katherine Keener.

This was a decent movie, better than expected.

The Cover Girl Murders (1993 TV Movie)
1/10
The Reason Mystery Science Theater 3000 Was Created
23 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie just happened to be on HBO yesterday so I watched it. This was a mistake. I guess I got sucked in and kept watching although it was a lot like a train wreck, terrible, horrible, but somehow you just can't look away. shaudenfraud I guess! ; ).

This is the story of a photoshoot for models on some island in the Caribbean. One by one they are all murdered. One drinks cleaning fluid, one gets blown up on a waverunner, one goes over a cliff...so these are NOT accidents, but for some inane reason the police are never called and no one thinks that perhaps they should "wrap" the shoot and go home, not just in respect for the dead, but perhaps out of fear for their own lives. No. They just continue with their shoot because THAT is what's most important. Forget about the dead models, we have a magazine to produce!

One of the subplots is the Evil magazine owner, played by Lee Majors, Rex is his name. He is the most obvious suspect and every time a model gets killed he twirls his mustache and says "well, I can't say this won't be good for sales", mooo hoo hoo hoo ha ha ha ha". So absurd. Another subplot is when it's revealed that Rex is one of the models baby dady, only when he learned of the baby he tried to convince the girl to abort. She didn't, but always resented him for even suggesting this.

They try to give you false clues and point toward some guy named Raule, seemingly because he's the only one with an accent and "looks creepy".

At the very end (sorry to spoil, but this movie came out years ago so if you haven't seen it by now...) one of the women was found face down dead in the pool. THIS was the Last straw!!!! Vanessa Angel, forget her characters name comes at Rex with a gun, they struggle, the gun fires and now SHE'S dead too!!! While she's laying on the floor his business associate tells him that with all this bad press the magazine will be worthless and it's all his fault. He gets him to sign over the magazine to him. Once he does voila! All the dead models come back to life and you find the entire thing was an elaborate ruse to get back at Rex.

Oy! What a ridiculous movie. As someone else said; if you want to see something like this April Fools Day is far better!

Women You Date and Women You....
31 December 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Definitely a good movie, well written, good dialogue, intelligent..., but I agree with another comment that noticed how similar this story is to "Crimes and Misdemeanors" a much better movie in my opinion.

A friend of mine recently told me of a date he had and pointed out that she's a "woman you ----", not marry. I think that was the theme of this story. Chris (rhys myers) found the perfect woman, tons of money, fabulously wealthy life, all the comfort a man could ever ask for and best of all; he didn't really have to work for it, just marry it. Then there's Nola, (Johhanson) who is a sexy struggling actress, not making it. She has no money, comes from a crappy home life and basically has nothing to offer this guy except her body. When she wants more he has no intention of giving up this great life he's acquired, even though he's in a loveless marriage. He has an internal crisis. What to do? Be with the sexy siren, or stay in the comfortable married life with kids, money, and perhaps boredom. Which is better? He has to decide. Clearly Nola is not a woman he'd ever consider marrying so in order to avoid risking losing his new life he has to get rid of her. Good story, but as I said "Crimes and Misdemeanors" did it better.

Disappointing
19 December 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Good cast, well acted, so so story, but ultimately a bad film in my opinion. This is the story of an uptight woman (Parker) who is brought to meet her boyfriends parents at Christmas. From the very beginning they hated her. Why? I don't know. They hadn't even met her. They just took one look at her and decided she was no good. I felt had they developed this part of the story better the movie would have made more sense. So she's uptight. She was clearly trying very hard to be respectful of them, ie; sleeping in a separate bedroom, brining them all gifts....and they treated her atrociously. I felt they were extremely immature and rude, and even though she made some off color comments she was put on the defense from the very beginning. It was painful to watch. I felt very sorry for her. I didn't think it was funny. I thought it was cruel. I don't feel it was ever made clear why this family acted this way and why they disliked her before even meeting her.

There were jokes throughout, but I never laughed once. The mothers illness was very sad and effective within the story, but I just thought as a whole it was silly and sophomoric.

Good, But Confusing
14 November 2005
This was a fun story and very original. The chemistry between Kilmer and RDJ was excellent. I love them both as actors and just think they're extremely cool ; ). While I enjoyed the movie often times I found it confusing. I almost feel like I need to watch it again to fill in the holes.

There were jokes throughout, but I felt the direction was poor because the dialogue was so fast that by the time you got to laugh and the audience laughter died down you missed stuff.

I loved the Hollywood/NY comparisons. So funny. The character "Flicka". You just knew that at one point during the movie someone would actually refer to "my friend Flicka". I give this a six. It was very good. I thought it could have been better.

Stands the Test of Time
9 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was so great when it came out and is still great. I just watched it again 20 years later! Wow, has it been that long???? Charming story of a very bright young man Jeffrey Willis who has a bright future as an engineer. His father, a plumber wants to see his son become a success and wants him to stay on this path, but the summer before Jeffrey is to go off to college rather than working in an office he gets a job as first a parking lot attendant, and then quickly promoted to cabana boy at a fancy long island beach club. He is so enamoured with the lifestyle of these rich folks and especially impressed by Phil Brody, who made his fortune in luxury cars and feels he's found a new mentor.

Despite the fact that he is merely the cabana boy he really feels this is the life he wants to live. He looks at his Brooklyn roots and feels somewhat ashamed, and wants this life of luxury to start right now. Mr. Brody is also impressed by Jeffrey who is very smart, and a go getter. He shows Jeffrey "the ropes" and a new way of life. He even offers him a job as a salesman at one of his shops. Jeffrey is all ready to say F college! He now wants to be like his hero, Phil Brody, who also is the reigning king of the gin games at the club.

The movie is so old, but I won't spoil for you how it ends except to say that his illusions are pretty much shattered.

Great film. Great performance by a very young, very cute Matt Dillon.

House of Wax (2005)
5/10
Great? No. Fun? Yes
3 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
OK, so this won't win any academy awards, but I can say it is definitely campy fun!!! The beginning part leading up to the massacre is a bit too long, but suspenseful as you KNOW something horrid is coming. I thought the whole "entire town is "wax people" was a bit over the top, and hard to swallow, but creepy none theless. I think as any movie like this there were things you can really tear apart, like the boyfriend who goes to "look outside" and instructs his girlfriend to stay in the "house of wax". Yeah. It's broad daylight! Why wouldn't she just wait outside? I thought it was extremely cool and gross showing how they encased these people in wax and made "the face" all while this guy was still alive. Honestly I thought it would have been more effective (scare factor) if they ALL were alive before he "waxed em!". ; )THAT is terrifying.

All in all I give this a 5. Lots of bad horror movie cliché's, but fun to watch.

Warning: Spoilers
My parents are still married so it's hard for me to fully relate or understand what it would be like if my parents were split, however this film seemed to really depict this in a way that was raw, sad, and what I imagine to be very close to the reality of divorce. I thought the performances by Linney and Daniels were very good. Daniels was a real bastard and I really hated his character. The boys who played the sons were also very good.

One slight spoiler; issue I had with this film was the son plagurizing "Hey You" and then having the nerve to perform this song at the talent show passing it off as his own. I was a kid in the 70's and "Hey You" was hugely popular! Everyone knew this song. There is no way on earth that he could have not had 20 people stand up reveal him as a fraud, and the notion that he'd actually WIN the contest? Absurd. Indeed; "hey you" was a very good song, but the idea was just implausible. As my writing teacher said; if something is too hard to believe it "takes you out of the story". Otherwise I thought this was an interesting film.

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this movie! I've seen it a few times and always enjoy it. I think this and Twins is the best of Ahnold! ; ). He plays a really good good guy. I love his interaction with the kids; "it's not a tumor!". BEST LINE! or "boys have a penis, girls have a vagina", or "my dads a cardigologist". lol. It's just so sweet. I love when he has dinner with Ursula and she pretends to be his austrian sister. Spoiler; I love that his entire purpose (as pointed out by Crisp was chasing him, and how he really had nothing else) and that upon finding Crisp he was able to get a better life. I don't know. I'm a sap. I just thought the story was great.
