Nowhere near the original
1 June 2023
I am one of those who hoped this reboot will have the feel that it had almost 25 years ago. It is nowhere near it. But i gave it seven stars because i don't want to take part in drowning it, we have to be aware of the fact that it is meant for children under the age of 14. Still, it is stripped of the deep meaning the original had. Now evolution just happens. In fact there were two in the first episode, and it doesn't feel deserved. But oh well, life is fast paced now, i guess they adapted the story. But in my opinion, they lost that unique feeling it separated it from competitors, like "Pokemon". Now it's just another cartoon, that in my opinion won't be unique in children's eyes.

I am having a hard time finding anything good
6 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am a hardcore fan of Tolkien, but that is not why i am rating this with two stars. Even assuming that this is not in any way connected to Tolkien and his works, this series doesn't stand on it's own. I'm sorry, but that is the truth. Everything except the graphics is just horrible. When the writers wanted to make a line sound deep, it just ended up sounding ridiculous. I don't remember a single meaningful dialogue. Some scenes make no logical sense. Many characters are not consistent, and the biggest problem is the main character: in one scene she is shown as caring for her people, especially when they are her responsibility, and in the next she is abandoning someone under her command. The writing is on a level of children's cartoons, with the difference it even fails at being entertaining at it's silliness. Acting is also mostly horrible, starting with the main character, but there are a few characters on the side that are exceptions. They are not amazing or anything, but they are okay. That, along with the graphics, is why i gave this 2 instead of 1 star. The budget however is mostly spent in vain.

If you are a hardcore Tolkien fan, you MUST NOT watch this. But if you are able to look at this as non-Tolkien, or if you don't even know who Tolkien is, then i still advise you to skip this. I will not be rewatching this, ever.

A good, well-rounded end
21 May 2021
This episode was a good end to an amazing TV series. While the series itself remains one of the top five on my list, that i already rewatched fully for, i think 5th time now, this episode's acceptance speech felt too forced. That is the only reason i gave it 9 instead of 10 stars. It simply felt too forced. But the ending scene, that was pure gold. This entire episode had the standar feel of the series, excluding the one odd part.

And again, i can not stress this enough, the ending scene was brilliant. The more things change-the more they stay the same.

Chaotic finale for a chaotic season
16 May 2021
This episode perfectly shows the mess this became. All characters are running around without a plan in mind. All but one. And that "one" is a supporting character.

Comparing the main character now to what she was on season one leads to thinking it's not the same character. First, she knew exactly what she was doing, and she had a stable relationship with her handler. And now, she almost stopped working which advanced her career? How? She and her handler are not even friends now, and she is running around like a headless chicken.

The ending scene of this episode is actually the cherry on top which helped me decide that i am not watching anymore. This is nothing like what i watched in season one.

Why?
16 May 2021
Why is this still going on? I mean it was okay for the first two or three seasons, but come on. All they started doing was to go in circles. Why do people keep watching this telenovella?

Slow and boring
25 April 2021
I never thought i'd give anything with Coleman a rating this bad. But i simply can't watch this. I forced myself through three episodes hoping it gets better, but it didn't. Simply, it is painfully slow and at some times also chaotic(?!). It looks like they are trying for it to be a drama, but it just ends up like nothing at all. I mean it. Three days after the episode is over i forget 95% of it. I'm not sure what is Coleman even doing here.

Very freaky show, that is sometimes even digsusting. Not remotely close to family friendly. But all in all, it is worth to watch even of you skip certain scenes.

Meh
25 April 2021
The first few seasons are interesting to various degrees, yet the first one looked kinda childish. Somwhere along the middle, Mr. Gold became one of the most important characters, and despite the script, the actor does an amazing job. After that, the last few seasons were between bad and horrible. Childish logic, coupled with fairytale logic, into something that's neither for kids nor adults. I was watching out of habbit, but i started mission episodes and didn't really mind if i missed several in a row. I am not even sure i watched the series finale.

I'm sorry i can not be more precise, but i watched it a long time ago, and it honestly didn't really make an impression.

Decent, but biased
31 March 2021
I'm not from UK, so as an outsider i can disregard the bias without much problems. It centers on the tories, and the main character is also a tory. So you would expect them to show a decent tory as well. In fact, i can give them a pass on that because, as i said, i'm not from UK so i don't have a horse in the race. But it lools like everyone from the tories is evil. However what does bother me is that they seem to make this a "diversity" thing as well: all people who "want justice" are females, excluding one middle eastern guy. But all white guys are in expensive restourants drinking and smoking cuban cigars, being all corrupt and "patriarchal": oh how original. One of those "female fighters" is also a lesbian, and a few are black, so they got the main "oppressed people" covered. Despite this, i try my best to concentrate on the main character and the amazing actor who portrays him. He's pretty much the only thing which made me want to watch more. The story itself is not particularly original, they just throw everything at the main character who is being all "patriarchal".

The Outpost: This Is Our Outpost (2019)

Horrible
11 March 2021
This is a horrible episode. The army of the prime order acted like barbarrians, not romans they are suposed to be inspired by. No shields, no strategy, no organization. And this is topped off by paper armour(even throwing knives can go through the center, where armor is the strongest), lack of proper chain of command and overal sense that they have no idea what they are doing. How did the prime order even become so dominant when they lack everything you need to hold one city? This was suposed to be an epic battle, but it turned into "cattle being lead to the slaughter house". And the side having the upper hand in all aespects was playing the role of cattle.

Wasted potential
11 March 2021
It started boring, then became fun, and then started getting worse with each episode. The plot became a lot less unique, and what made it good before no longer existed. Plot started showing major holes in the story, in some cases defying itself. For example, the main bad guys "prime order" look like a "what if Western Roman Empire had a pope as it's emperor", but the similarities end with costumes and internal politics. However, their army is a joke. In real battles, their armor is redundant as it doesn't stop swords, arrows and not even knives; they have no shields; they show poor organization, one thing everyone knows is that that's a major reason for "the glory of roman army" existing; their troops never even try getting in formation to attack and defend. These are major reasons why the prime order being so powerful looks unrealistic, even vy fantasy standards. A major battle is painful to watch.

Some things that make no sense they get a pass on because it's a low-budget tv series, but there are too many flaws that don't have anything to do with money. That is why 4 stars is the most i can give. The story had potential and the characters had potential, but then they just decided to waste it all and turn it into the usual romantic triangle.

A rollercoaster of quality
18 February 2021
I watched the first two season years ago, and the season 2 finale made me give up watching. I just started again, rewatched the first two seasons... I was a lot younger back then, but it was still a heavy punch in the feels. They really made me care, and that is very hard. Anyways, i stopped watching somwhere in the second half of season 10 because i just couldn't stand the new companion. This review was edited after each couppe of seasons, so if you find something that contradicts what i wrote earlier, the last thing i said is my final stand on each matter.

I rate each season independently and then add and devide the result to get the final rating of the series, which is a total of 6,75/10 stars, rounded up to 7.

Short recommendation on which seasons are worth to watch: Watch seasons 1-4, then you can skip 5-6 entirely, then watch seasons 7-9 and forget 10(and possibly also later seasons) even exists. Seasons 5 and 6 are not worth the time, season 7 is kinda-sorta worth it but only because of the new companion. Then when she leaves at the end of season 9, i recommend you leave this series too. Now i continue with a bit more in-depth review:

1- Season 1 is wacky and fun to watch, but lacks real depth most of the time. Still, a very fun season that i will rewatch every now and then. Final verdict of S01: 9/10 stars.

2- Because of the season finale i first wanted to give Season 2 just 5/10. However as they still managed to make me react in such a way, they got bonus two stars. Up untill the finale it was 9,5/10, so with the finale they lost 4,5 stars in my book. A lot, i know. Anyways, it's still somewhat better than season 1 because it looks like it has more depth(and character development). Final verdict for S02: 8/10 stars. But despite that, i consider it the best Doctor who season. NOTE: Before seing how they ended Rose's story in finale of season 4 i rated this 7/10 stars.

3- The first few episodes are kinda interesting, the midde episodes are boring, and in the end it's very good. The new girl getting "romantical" about the Doctor is way off. The character of Rose was all bubbly and feminine, grabbing Doctor by the hand and dragging him along with all the usual "girlfriend act". So it worked out for season 2, but Martha Jones acts more like a sidekick of a superhero than a girl who's into "the Doctor". And that's part of the problem of season 3, they are trying to force it from time to time without any real hints or a decent backstory preparation. Without that i'd give the season 8/10 stars. Final verdict for S03: 7/10 stars

4- I find many of the best and worst episodes in this season. For example the season finale is AMAZING. Ties everything, not neccessarely in the best way possible, but it is at least satisfactory. Still, Donna is so far the most annoying companion of the Doctor if you ask me. But she really shines in the finale. If she acted like she did in the finale for most of the season, i'd say she is the second best companion. But as she was annoying i have to rank her the worst companion(so far). So the finale deserves some special attention from me. They wrapped up Rose's story, not in the best way, but in a decent way. That was my main reason for continuing to watch the series because they really made me care about her ending, which is very hard to do. In season 1 i found her mostly annoying, but in season 2 she grew on me. In this episode they geve her story a real ending. Rose's "closing" scene did look fake, but oh well, it lasted for a few seconds. However my favorite episode, "The Fires of Pompeii" is also in this season. Final verdict for S04: 7/10. The finale and "Pompeii" aren't enough to push it further up for me.

5- It was all over the place. While the new companion was a bit reffreshing, they still managed to make it a love triangle(and i hate those). The story is kinda boring in my opinion as well. There are one or two amazing episodes, but there are a couple of bad ones. Final verdict for S05: 6/10.

6- One of the worst seasons in my opinion. The only good episode is "The Doctor's Wife"(ep4). It's just fast paced chaos, that has a dissapointing result at the end. By the end River was really getting on my nerves. Final verdict for S06: 4/10

7- Now this is where they focus on developing the characters again. The new companion is amazing. The underline plot is very interesting. I thought this wave starting from mid season would last longer than it did. The introduction of the new doctor is one of the few bad episodes, so don't let it put you off from watching. Final verdict for S07: 7/10

8- Okay, this feels like season 1 again. While the finale does fall short, there are several good episodes, and one or two bad ones. But there is no trully horrible episode, unlike in the last two/three seasons. Final verdict for S08: 8,5/10

9- Now this is an ok season. And i say ok because the fist half is... Just fine. While the last few episodes, excluding season finale, are amazing. P.S. River, go away! Final verdict for S09: 8/10

10- For the first few episodes that i did watch, this trully is the worst season so far. And i hear later it gets even worse, so it looks like i saved a lot of time. The new companion is horrible on so many levels. But to be fair that might just be the script she got to work with not suiting her. We get it, she's a lesbian, she's black. You ticked two boxes at once. What do you want, an applause? There is no need to shove it down our throats several times in every single episode. In fact, you know in which season the companion was also black? Season 3! And i didn't even register it untill now. But that's probably because i can't remember the writers puting a "she's a miniority" sign over her neck. And all the time you used to point it out would have been better spent actually developing her character. This just made her annoying beyond Donna and yes, even Rose's mother! Final verdict for (the first half of) S10: 3/10 Maybe it seems unfair to include S10 in this rating, but it would probably be even worse if i continued watching.

It does not deserve anything below 8 stars
26 December 2020
Why does this have such a low rating? Now sure, it's not the first "Beverly Hills Cop", but anything below 8 stars is just silly. Especially if you compare it to modern movies, then it should get 15/10 stars.

Too hyped up
8 December 2020
This review is being posted after seeing the end of season 1, and will be edited later.

This is the equivalent of game of thrones when it comes to being too hyped up. However unlike the first season of that show it does not try to keep you watching with sex scenes, which is nice to see these days. To be fair there are a few nudity scenes, but the longest one lasts about 20 seconds and that was a ritual. First let's get one thing out of the way: This is inspired by history, but is nowhere near historically accurate. What caught my attention right from the start is that the romans actually speak latin. There are minor mistakes here and there, but WOW. That alone is why i will continue watching. In other areas i find this show lacking, but mostly because i went in expecting a huge battle with romans fighting and trying to get in formation for longer than one minute.

In short: If you think game of thrones was good at some point, this is a must watch. Just don't come in expecting much and you won't be dissapointed much.

Started well, continued as propaganda
7 December 2020
This show started very well. In fact there was practicaly no bias, so it made me wonder what is going on. But in a season or two it crashed and burned as a yet another propaganda show. The rating reflects how the fammiliarity of the viewers is fead with each episode. I'm not even russian(or a communist) and i think this is obvious.

Naturally this will get a lot of dislikes, which further confirms the "familiar horde" mentality. But don't let that, or the first season of this show fool you.

Disappointing
7 November 2020
I went in expecting this movie to be worse than the first one, becausw let's face it that how usually films are, but it was by far worse than i ever thoight. There were some funny scenes, but i only laughed maybe three times. It all looks forced and honestly, it is the worst Cohen production i ever watched. It is not an age thing either, "Who is America" was made just one or two years ago and it was hilarious. This looks like it was written and filmed very fast just for the sake of filming it.

Should you watch it? Honestly, don't. If you are a major fan, especially then. Better go watch "Who is America".

Disapointing
11 October 2020
By now you are probably used to "part 2" containing irrational decisions and unrealistic results two or three times more than a regular episode. This episode does not let down the tradition of "Merlin" with two part episodes and even takes it to the next level, finding new ways to be disapointing.

11 October 2020
This is a decent episide. Of course some things are absurd, but if you watched it until now this is no surprise. However, one absurdity did influence my rating and made me lower it from 9 to a 8, and that is Morgana's behaviour. She was in a perfect situation to do something, twice, and both times she made an irrational choice not to. When you watch this episode you will know exactly what i mean.

Awful
11 September 2020
I'll make it short. This is the worst finale i have ever seen. Full of plot holes, logic-braking decisions and rushed scenes. While it is fast paced, i am not talking about that. Each scene looks like 1/5th of what it should be content wise. If they ended "Merlin" prior to this episode, despite ending on a cliffhanger, the entire show would have been better.

I won't get into details, there are plenty of bad reviews with spoilers that go deep into it. So if you want to read the specifics, read those.
