Turma da Mônica absolutely should never have left the comics!
19 April 2024
It is not a film for children, they exaggerated the dose in the horror and witchcraft scenes, although some have more of an air of mockery than of quality cinema, the psychosis scenes are massive thinking about a juvenile audience, but they got the childishness right where they definitely They shouldn't have been in production, in addition to breaking the basic fidelity of a film that should be based on a comic book, when the scenes themselves don't convince viewers and fans that this is the reality of Mônica's gang.

The plot hardly holds our attention, it's shallow, cliché, it seems like it wasn't written by a professional. Due to this same superficial plot and the difficulties in acting, some scenes become very monotonous, the actors are waiting for their turn to speak their text. In short, the acting is not convincing, in some scenes it seems that the actors themselves are not convinced of their own characters, in other scenes there is a noticeable period of unnecessary silence between the speech of one character between the speech of another, this brings an energy very strange for the film, a lack of quality, even leading to a feeling of embarrassment for the audience watching.

The characters are not well explored, precisely because of the superficial plot already mentioned and in the same way that there was a lack of charisma in the acting, there was a lack of affection for the film. Some scenes lack logical reasoning, the horror scenes with the monster running after the characters seem amateurish, they make us wonder if it is a trash film or a child's game, in addition to the question that remains at the end, which is, how did a Renowned comic book producer accepted any production and director taking his story resulting in a film like this? Turma da Mônica absolutely should never have left the comics and that is a fact, after seeing one film after another in the saga decline over time in terms of cinematographic and critical quality from both the public and film critics.

Apocalypto (2006)

After all, why watch a film if it doesn't make us think, feel and present? Watch Apocalypto.
5 April 2024
I judged this film by the cover, how hypocritical of me, because the film is incredible. It's difficult to take your eyes off the screen, it's a very full-bodied and impactful film, I love films like this, there are few films that are like this.

Generally, I don't really like action films, they are very clichéd and predictable with fake scenes, with super men, exploding cars and lots of fighting that sometimes gives off an air of little meaning and superficiality. This film involves a new meaning of adrenaline bringing positive consequences to our emotional and rational thinking connected to something that exudes historical quality.

It is very faithful to historical facts, which is another reason for its impact on today's viewers, the film makes us feel strange about the events of the time, some scenes are even bizarre, horrifying, just knowing that things could very well have functioned in the way that the film portrayed on a certain date marked by human beings in our historical line, brings us a feeling of helplessness and strangeness.

After all, why watch a film if it doesn't make us think, feel and present? Watch Apocalypto.

This really isn't a movie for everyone.
16 October 2023
This really isn't a movie for everyone. During the film, the main character faces his demons through various visual techniques and through few words.

The film gives us answers, but some are vague, which leaves us unsure of our interpretation at the end. The film seems to have all the answers and at the same time it doesn't, which is distressing.

The film is strange, insane and extreme, it leaves us mesmerized and that on the one hand is good, we see so many bad and unseasoned films that struggle to keep us hooked nowadays, unlike this one. In each scene different things happen, it even seems like a weird show, a crazy dream or a daydream. 4 stories can be happening in a scene and trying to connect, both in the form of dialogue, visually, in scenery and sounds, both in the past and from the present to the future.

And that's it, it's a great film, but a film that leaves certain uncertainties and questions in the air that makes us want to question, was it necessary? Or not? Is it really possible to interpret everything for full understanding?

Women Talking (2022)

It's a very informative film.
16 October 2023
It's a very informative film. It's a film with lines that can add insight into human beings. They are good performances like a play, perhaps that is why the film could be better adapted.

Some aspects of the film's main subject could have been better explored and deepened with more scenes, through the characters in different situations shown in scenes and even in speeches, precise speeches about the current context and not just about the consequent much-desired future.

But it is a necessary film, because at this time women's lives were very underestimated and this is still a reflection on our current times.

A well-tempered film, with some good mixes and some too pungent.
28 November 2021
It is clear the progress that the acting of Lady Gaga has made, of course it is always possible to improve in one aspect or another, but yes, we can consider Lady Gaga an actress who overshadows landscapes. The actress is unforgettable and overflows with personality, sometimes exaggerated, but just the right measure for a film that is extravagant from beginning to end, in short, she fulfilled her role very well and committed one hundred percent.

It's unavoidable to start talking about the great diva Lady Gaga, but now, getting right down to business I say, the movie is exaggerated, and how can it not be? They are divine clothing models, dressed by dramatic and exuberant characters, in scenarios full of exorbitant scenes. The film fulfilled her role, told her story amid an outrageous controversy from the Gucci fashion world.

The film made me laugh in several scenes, sometimes it was difficult even to take it seriously, maybe that would be the intention, as it is a film full of characters and peculiar scenes. Despite his impeccable aesthetics, cuts and direction, he could have focused more on deepening each character, thus developing and reaffirming the essence of the narrative in its entirety, I repeat, this I missed, thus leaving the story with a TV news feel, or even from a soap opera, but in any case the film fulfills the understanding of its history, events and dated facts as stated.

La La Land (2016)

- You are not prepared to assume and understand this movie.
11 November 2021
Finally a current musical that is not cliché and imaginary, but composed of references and inspirations. The scenes light up the screen, which are soon reflected in color on the audience. It's a modern novel, fresh and true, repeating, without clichés, with songs that are well written and fit with what was written, that is simple, basic, but original.

Did the people who hated the movie really hate the movie? Or don't like musicals? Or I don't know, are you so used to clichés, once upon a time or were you happily ever after, that you hated the movie because it wasn't one of those? In short, they didn't just hate the movie, but they aren't prepared to take it on and understand it. How to hate a fresh, hopeful, dreamy story that at the same time fits with our reality? In addition to all this lighting and fun, we have the taste and feeling of being able to root for our characters.

Pandorum (2009)
7/10
- It is not a classic, but it is surprising in the midst of so many severe criticisms.
27 March 2021
I was impressed with Pandorum and the critics were very stern. Pandorum is inspired by other science fiction films, it does not justify harsh criticism, several films do this today. The plot is not the most original, but the film tries to delve into science as much as possible.

The film has a good cast for this type of films, even if some characters are neutral, others stand out, as they fall headlong into the role of the character, this is impressive when we watch it, especially for a film of this size. The characters work well through the performance of the actors, some with exaggerations, but it is not a sin.

The film leaves you claustrophobic to the point of being restless in your home chair, it goes at a fast pace with doses of tension leaving the audience entertained in various ways, in addition to living up to the visuals of fiction, the creatures and the intergalactic gloom, imagination is awakened in the public through these shadows, which could have been more used.

In short we can say yes, it is a sci-fi horror film, but it does not carry the status that other classic sci-fi horror films do, but in any case, it is also worth watching Pandorum, due to the psychological sensation of seeing people in the space for so long surviving amid the gloom that the intergalactic carries. To make the film more potent in the midst of so many bad reviews, the ending has a surprising twist, fulfilling the shape of the majority.

Forrest Gump (1994)

- An incredible story, but it is not the center of attention due to the lack of necessary material exposure in all its aspects.
25 March 2021
This film is not the best film among those that were released at the same time, but it still has weight, has an optimistic outlook on life and moves the audience in a fun way through a simple and sweet-hearted man who makes his journey through between American history, influenced by his mother, by a lieutenant and by other categorical characters, while his childhood friend travels on the opposite side of the womb of this same world, a side that would bring an extra meaning to the story he chose for just following this positive line, which can be an involuntary or purposeful decision of the director leaving an air of irony in relation to this ball of positivism that surrounds us. The story is in a way complete and is very well stitched through episodes of events, the film portrays American facts and myths in a magical, funny way that at the same time curiously can be treated as ironic, where good guys stay together, where a good heart illuminates everything it touches and where everyone reaches the top regardless of the issues. As incredible as this simple man's journey seems to be, it was a great adventure, one that does not stand out, I repeat, for the other films of the same period, which even had a portion of their attention unfeasible due to the expendable attention that Forrest Gump received. Yes, there was a lot of adventure in the story, but it could have been even more profound in this film, with an even more controversial character, where he is not interrupted in the scenes when he has the chance to comment on what the audience really needs to hear about this journey of America.

Taste of nostalgia with questionable characteristics for the animation theme
16 March 2021
Every detail is beautifully animated, the story is fun all the time, it's a great idea to mix feelings and holidays across worlds in a physical way, but despite being such a perfect film in relation to animation, despite being a classic in these requirements and in others, such as the gum and impeccable soundtrack, I can say that the story itself, which is the most important aspect of a film, does not stand out in comparison to the other aspects. Yet it is an extraordinary film, to be missed and a nostalgic taste in the roof of the mouth, it is to laugh and produce bright eyes through a childlike aesthetic, totally trash and obscure, characteristics that can be questioned before being made into a film of the animation theme, but it worked very well for this film, so it is really worth watching.

- It's good, it's suspense and drama as well as terror.
11 March 2021
It is not a film that scares the public, it is a history film that makes everyone uncomfortable. The film is almost a complete horror, but it is the discomfort it leaves in the air that sums up the film. The silence and the soundtrack bring a certain tension to the film in the midst of such discomfort, in addition to the cuts ending it with a flourish. The tension and the gloom was what caught my attention the most, even though the discomfort stands out among them because it was added in exaggerated doses. I was also open-mouthed with the performance of the actors, especially with the performance of the younger actors, it is surprising to see this in young people, there is not much of it these days. I thought the proposal for the image of a witch that was delivered to us and sorcery was incredible, even though we saw little of it during the film, this image proposal is good and at the same time it is traditional and versatile in the director's way, in addition to being obscure , that most of the time the directors look for obscurity and only deliver clichés, something superficial and the opposite of what is really obscure. In short, it is a good film among other good ones, but not as spectacular as a few. It is not a typical terror, it is not what is expected of a terror, but we can call it terror as we can call suspense and family drama as well.

A film that makes an audience give in to choosing a side concept that would not be conventional in view of what has been common for our entity since our beginnings.
20 September 2020
Who would stop at a mental hospital to avoid the penalty of imprisonment? This change in direction of the story alters the lives of the characters and has a great impact on the film, making a memorable narrative among one of the best. In this film the intriguing relationship between a violent criminal with a depressive stutterer, with a nervous man, with a lovely crazy man and with a great dumb and shrewd man, makes us question whether the people inside could survive in the real world, making the idea of a perfect world possibly in a reflection of the hospital where there is madness and chaos. As the film progresses, some patients learn to have self-control of their problems defined as diseases and delay by specialists. The stranger in the nest allows patients to have a new perspective and experience of the outside world, different from the experiences they have obtained since their birth accompanied by traumas and colds, which counters the professional thinking that is gradually seen by the public as stagnant. One of the best aspects of this film is the accuracy of the time period. At each cut we observe different types of therapy and medicines being tested on patients to make them more acceptable to society, but a problem always happens next, unlike the cuts where we see their socialization with the stranger in the nest, who then it always generates satisfying laughter, bringing more questions that follow with the tenuous line of thought in relation to the idea of perfect society and insane people not acceptable. Regardless of whether the characters are sick or not and with the final events that are worrying and that makes us unsure about the authenticity of the arbitrary proposal of the story, the film in which it brings great uncertainties puts us in front of a new conception, which is something that exists in a few films, making it a wonderful and exceptional work, which makes the public give in to choosing a side concept that would not be the conventional one in view of what is common for our entity since our beginnings.

Up (2009)

To recap, Up is a cinematic bohemian in front of thousands of eyes.
20 September 2020
This is a direct film, it already gives you a first-hand clue about what is going to happen, you are already attuned and this is a great constructive start because it is an animation, but this film is not just a funny drawing for little children to laugh, it is a story of adventure and love that thrills every minute, with additional doses of action and light comedy, like a banquet seasoned in a way that is neither too salty nor tasteless, it is totally balanced. Certain scenes in the film I can call art, yes the film is a work of art, mainly because this film excludes the rule dictated by many, that the films of today cannot be better than the classics of old, the history of film, the touch of love, together with its special effects and animation makes it good enough to be among the list of the ancients. The colors and details form a bold, moderate and clear, stunning descriptive art. Some scenes when paused could simply become a large portrait or even a large painting by a famous artist hanging in a renowned museum. The images are admirable, especially when the film focuses on the super sharp characters that transmit feelings in abundance across the face, or when it focuses on the high definition of the exuberant nature. The film is a judicious mix of combinations of feelings, such as, adventure, fantasy, comedy, suspense, romance, drama and others. The film is so acceptable that it could be a film for adults, where the big ones would love more than their children, in short, everyone would be gaping regardless of their ages. To recap, Up is a cinematic bohemian in front of thousands of eyes.

Vertigo (1958)

An addition to the general idea of cinematographic composition that is in constant formation and development through the works of Hitchcock.
19 September 2020
A classic and scary suspense of tragic events. We have a character who suffers from acrophobia, fear of heights and who faces his fears when it is necessary to pursue a beautiful lady, which makes him a dangerous obsessed. The film eventually becomes a tragic drama with totally fateful events. In its beginnings we found slow scene movements, which makes us suspicious, from half to the end we found a film at high speed of development, stirring the public's senses, with suspense and doses of troubled action. The film has rhythm and elements for a great speculative and obscure suspense. Another typical Hitch story, with colorful and iconic special effects in the style of Robert Burks, which is breathtaking for the 50s. In addition to the special effects, the production design of the film stands out, the soundtrack is memorable , fascinating and emotional, in short they are masterpieces. Vertigo is smart, has style, has prominence and at the same time is an addition to the general idea of cinematographic composition that is in constant formation and development through the works of Hitchcock.

in the cinema or in a theater, today or tomorrow, it would be worth every penny of mine.
7 September 2020
Pixar always surprises. They just can't make a bad or mediocre movie. The robot couple, having a great focus on the film, thus being one of the centralities is not entirely satisfactory, but still they bring a good experience and reflection in relation to the global theme that is covered in the film. I can say that this film is among one of the best films that Pixar has ever played. A film of great emotional and significant hysteria for a wide audience. I would see this film again, that is, in the cinema or in a theater, today or tomorrow, it would be worth every penny of mine.
