Miyazaki's most underrated movie, a story about a disillusioned man during the rise of fascism in Italy. Despite that grim subject, this is one of Miyazaki's funnier movies as well as a touching look at growing older. It makes for a great double feature with the later, more serious Wind Rises, if only because both are about flight, love, and war.
